Ohio’s Statewide Attendance Campaign

Join the coalition today.

Ohio has an attendance crisis. With 1 in 4 students missing more than 10% of school a year, we need your help reaching Ohio’s goal to cut chronic absenteeism in half by 2029. Attendance is a team sport and we need YOU on the team. Non-profits, businesses, healthcare providers, philanthropies, public agencies, civic, faith-based, and service organizations all have a role to play.

Why Does Attendance Matter?

Ohio has made a significant commitment to attendance. Governor DeWine and State Superintendent Steve Dackin are a part of the pledge to cut chronic absenteeism in half.

When students attend, they succeed. Students who are NOT chronically absent are:
  • 3.9x more like to read on grade level by the end of 3rd grade
  • 3x more likely to graduate on time!
